Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) president Arshanapally Jaganmohan Rao has revealed that preparations are all set for the first Test match between India and England to be held at the Uppal Stadium from 25th of this month. Speaking at a press conference held at Uppal Stadium on Saturday, Janmohan Rao said that as this is the first cricket match after the election of the new HCA Executive Committee, some revolutionary decisions have been taken to make it a festival. As part of this, 25,000 school students are being given free entry to the stadium for the five days of the Test
match, and families of Army, Navy and Air Force personnel working in Telangana are being allowed free entry on Republic Day. He clarified that we will give first priority to the students of government schools, however, we will allot the passes on the basis of the letter from the school principal, but not personally. The students have been provided free lunch and drinking water without any problem, Army, Navy and Air Force personnel are advised to get a letter from their department head and email it to the CEO of HCA. He said that in view of the stampede that happened in the gymkhana in the past, the tickets are being sold completely online. He said that it is happy to get an unprecedented response from the fans for tickets even if it is a test match. The ground has been upgraded for Test matches with the addition of a canopy roof on all sides of the stadium, newly arranged chairs, huge LED screens and modern LED floodlights. In this meeting HCA office bearers R. Devaraj, Basavaraju, Srinivasa Rao, Daljeet Singh, Sunil and others participated.
