Protesting Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot’s decision allowing prosecution of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, local leaders of the Congress, along with the party workers, tried to lay siege to the residence of former CM B S Yediyurappa in Shikaripura in Shivamogga district on Sunday.

Governor Thawarchand Gehlot’s permission to interrogate Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) case is causing a political uproar. It led to a war of words between Congress and BJP. Recently, Congress workers tried to besiege the house of BJP leader and former Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa, opposing the Governor’s decision. Congress workers reached Yaddy’s house in Shikaripura in Shimoga district in large numbers and attempted to besiege the house, raising slogans against Yeddyurappa and his son, BJP state president Vijayendra.
The alert police set up barricades on the road leading to Yeddyurappa’s house and stopped them. Then he was arrested and taken to the police station. Then left. KPCC general secretary SP Nagendra Gowda condemned the governor’s decision. They demanded an inquiry into how Yeddyurappa acquired such a large amount of assets. He warned that if he comes to Shikaripura, the Congress workers will harass him
